a big little change

In Georgia right now, you don't have to go to the DMV (or Department of Driver Services, DDS, here)
to renew licenses or permits. Or upgrade a class C permit to a class C license.

One terribly big problem my Mom and I have had since our home burned down, was that my permit was
expired. When we went through replacing our ids, she is visually impaired and couldn't have a license
and my aunt had to drive us everywhere (although the sate patrol office is only two miles from here).
She (my aunt)  was totally put out about my having to go retake the test (it DID take 3 hours to get up to the testing screen to actually take the written part).

She even had my cousin bring her a Pepsi. Like, drive to the state patrol office to
bring her a Pepsi. Then she came inside (she had been waiting in her car) to go to the public restroom and
she had taken her shoes off, right before my name was called for the test. She is the only person I know who
would even consider going to a public restroom in a DMV without shoes. The woman is 70!
I DID pass that fecker though.
Thank goodness.

It only costs $10 for the permit test or I wouldn't have been able to swing it.
Well, it was time for it to expire in two weeks. Then I got a notification that I wouldn't have to
bother my aunt about a renewal for now because they extended it until September due to Corona.
They have already sent me the card. Worst picture taken of me, EVER but still a problem off my list...

THEN on Friday I heard that people who had taken the written part at least 1 year ago and
didn't have any citations, could go online and upgrade to a Genuine Class C license.

Which I did promptly at 7:30 am today. It will have that awful picture though.
For the next 8 years. hahahahahaha!!!
