Mild-tempered Man

Mild-tempered man
Walks his dog after a run to the store
Each day returns with a smile
Leaves no crumbs on your floor
Wherever he goes, perfectly docile
While you leave your shutters ajar
No noise leaves his flat so far

Mild-tempered man
After you step out of the shower
The air parades his bed of flowers
Fool-proof likability
No one could expect liability

Mild-tempered man
An innocuous gesture catches no eye
But the writing's on the wall
How much of a lie
Is enough to stall
Scenes cut, severed ties
Given nil as to what
Lead you to think otherwise
Of the mild-tempered man
Before each nightfall
Where you sleep and others ran
At your door footprints call
Evidence buried in the sand
