I've been listening to this dude talk about the tag team belts in AEW for 15 minutes and now I'm going to REBUTT this pathetic display with some actual clarity.
Holding belts “A LONG TIME” is not a problem. What you have is a comparison issue with other promotions. AEW is not NJPW nor is it WWE. Their championships are designed from the ground up to be meaningful long term story arcs for their champions. So far, they have all had very distinct flavors and styles, and with any HOPE, they will continue to do so. “Handing the titles” to PnP so they can headline a payperview isn't a story. Why is that interesting? There is no “they need a turn” here, so far. Almost everyone in AEW writes their own storylines and does their own creative through Tony (source: every interview he's ever done about it), and if someone isn't capable of writing or creating a compelling character arc, they're NOT going to get the title in AEW. Period! It's that simple! And if you want to interrupt a story with the Bucks and Kenny right now so that whoever or whatever can just have the belts and do a ppv, please go watch a different promotion where that type of thing happens.
If long title runs are disruptive to you, I have a feeling you're not going to enjoy a company starting up and creating prestige for the champion. Adam Page is inevitably going to hold the belt someday, but until the time comes for that story to manifest itself over the one occurring right now, you're just going to have to ride along with the story that IS actually happening, which is the Super Elite taking advantage of their positions both within AEW and elsewhere to manifest greatness. Deal with it or go away lmao this is the dumbest thing in the world to be mad about. Go watch another TV show and get mad because the main character isn't switching to the side guys enough.
