Garbage Pot
2/9/2020 07:18 PM
I've been using a meal delivery service for the last few weeks. I tried to be a meal prepper but since I am lazy garbage, it ultimately became a question of "How much chili can I eat before I die" or "Can I have spaghetti every single night of my life for the entire rest of it".

I hate ingredients delivery services because that is just a grocery store trip + $30 extra dollars for no reason, so it doesn't really do much but give you the illusion of eating well one night a week for seventy dollars.

So I got one of those "meals already prepared" deals and it's been alright-- it doesn't feel like freezer food since they're never actually frozen, and I don't eat as much arby's which is always a plus, both for my sick ass dad bod and also for, I guess, the rest of it.

I don't hate it. It's nice not eating the same 4 things over and over + something I found a recipe for once in awhile.

Cooking is a really relaxing thing to do, but I don't enjoy shopping at all, so that's basically what it always boiled down to. So now I can have a pan seared steak once a week but then the rest of it isn't just whatever trash I shoved in a crock pot.

Not bad. Medium reccomend.

I am also lazy garbage. I meal prepped for exactly one week and it was amazing because my lazy ass could just pull a meal out of the fridge and be done with it, but then my lazy ass never wanted to prepare all those meals ahead of time ever again lmao

I am all about sheet pan recipes. Literally buy whatever meat and veggies are on sale, throw some seasonings on it, put it on a sheet pan and cook it.

That was basically my crock pot method. Just, whatever can seep into this chicken for 6 hours while I'm at work

I have only heard of "ingredients prepped to cook" services, or "someone's doing the marketing for you" services. Who delivers MREs? (Sorry, Meals Ready to Eat is military munches (ew) but it's what typed itself out.)

I've been using "Freshly". Honestly, I think it's worth it.

I've been wanting to try some of these services- so it's good to hear from actual customers.

It's no replacement for real food tbh, but if you are like me and just want your pathetic mortal form to survive for another day, it does the job. Also I am incredibly single and no one judges me for overusing the microwave.
